Welcome to My Project! - LIS753
Introduction
One of the greatest pollutants of our generation and most difficult to recycle is e-waste. The amount of electronics such as cell phones, televisions, tablets, computers, and plenty of more devices that are treated as e-waste has grown exponentially in our society. Unfortunately, most of these electronics are discarded due to their built-in obsolesce or because the repair cost is greater then the actual device. As individuals there are plenty of ways to help with this issue. I hope that you find my (small) contribution useful.
The Project
Extending the life-cycle of an electric shaver for under 5 dollars. - By Humberto E.
Philips Norelco BodyGroom Trimer, battery replacement. In this project I will provide step by step instructions for how to replace the internal battery for the trimer, and list the tools and the parts you need for the repair.
What is e-waste?
Electronic waste or e-waste describes discarded electrical or electronic devices. Used electronics which are destined for reuse, resale, salvage, recycling, or disposal are also considered e-waste. Informal processing of e-waste in developing countries can lead to adverse human health effects and environmental pollution.
At the conclusion of this project, you will learn how to use several tools and most importantly you will understand the negative impact discarded electrical devices have to our environment.
